Shakun Batra’s next, an untitled drama about an extra-marital affair has made quite the buzz ever since its cast was announced. The film stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and newcomer Dhairya Karwa.
While the pairings go as Deepika with Siddharth and Ananya with Dhairya, the film has an extra marital angle that leads to an intimate scene between Deepika and Dhairya. This being said, the scene may have been the reason for otherwise considered for the role, Ishaan Khatter to not make the cut. A source revealed that Shakun decided against Ishaan because he would have made an odd pair with DP. He said, “The story is such that Dhairya's character gets intimate with Deepika's character in the film. It's a complicated tale about extra-marital relationships and Ishaan would have looked very odd opposite Deepika. He would have looked too young and hence Shakun decided to go with Dhairya instead. The whole extra marital issue has been treated with a lot of sensitivity, a la typical Shakun style and it's an emotional watch."
Deepika plays a fitness instructor in the film and details of the other characters have still been kept under wraps.
