Neena Gupta who has proved her mettle in the film industry by playing several characters recently got candid about her journey in showbiz. Her book Sach Kahun Toh is now out and Kareena Kapoor Khan launched the look in an online event with Neena Gupta. Neena spoke about a casting couch experience and talking about it she said, “I remember I was doing a play at Prithvi Theatre, so I wrapped that up and went to meet the producer in a hotel that was close to the theatre as he had called me there for a meeting. When I reached he called me upstairs to his room. My first instinct was to not go but then I did not want to miss out on the opportunity.”
The part from the book reads, “So, what's my role, sir?' I asked him finally when he paused to catch his breath. 'The heroine's friend,' he said. When he explained it to me, it seemed like a very small part. 'Ok ... I have to go now, sir,' I said, 'My friends are waiting for me.'....'Go? Where?’ he asked. He seemed genuinely shocked. ‘Aren't you going to spend the night here?' Suddenly, I felt like someone had just poured a bucket of ice water on my head. Khoon sookh gaya (My blood froze)." The actress said she recalls running away from there after that.
