Actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood has been involved in numerous philantrophic ventures for more than a year now. He has sent thousands of migrant labourers home when they were stranded during the first lockdown and has arranged for medicines, ICU beds and oxygen cylinders for those suffering from the ongoing pandemic. Hence, he often takes to Twitter to help citizens and while most of his posts are about the people who need help, there are times he responds to people who make supposedly funny requests. Such was the case of a netizen who requested Sood to help him procure an iPhone for his girlfriend. “Bhai, meri girlfriend iPhone ki maang kar rahi hai, uska kuch ho sakta hai (Brother, my girlfriend is asking for an iPhone, can you help with that)?” a Twitter handle with a generic name asked the actor.
“Uska toh pata nahi, agar iPhone diya toh, par tera kuch nahi rahega (I don't know about that but if I get her a phone, you won’t benefit from it),” the actor replied. While this is all laughs and giggles, there have been many on social media who have made it their current mission to prove Sood as some sort of a fake messiah. They have reached out to hospitals seeking to confirm whether Sood has actually helped people and not left a single opportunity to troll him. No good deed goes unpunished, as they say!
