The Mumbai Police have filed an almost 1500-page charge sheet against Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra in the porn apps case which shook the nation. Raj Kundra was arrested in July. Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe, his business associate, have been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to sexual harassment and cheating among others, as well as under provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, according to media reports.
A copy of Shilpa Shetty’s statement was accessed by a leading daily wherein she says that she had no idea what her husband, Raj Kundra, was up to. “Kundra started Viaan Industries Limited in 2015 and I was one of the directors till 2020 when I resigned due to personal reasons. I am not aware of the Hotshots or Bollyfame apps. I was too busy with my own work and hence, not aware about what Kundra was up to,” she said.
The case against Raj Kundra and his business associates pertains to the alleged creation of pornographic content and distribution via certain apps. Shilpa Shetty was also clicked as she took a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi in Jammu in light of recent events.
