Yami Gautam today spoke to a leading daily and looked back at her journey at the movies. The actress saif that she has a better sense of things right now, because back then she made her debut on her own and there was no one to tell her what steps to take next. She believes that she is her own Godfather in the industry and that she had the support system of her family to keep her sane. Yami further adds that she kept getting career advice from everywhere. Some said to dress up in a certain way, some asked her to be papped everywhere. Yami says she had to push herself not to fall in this trap.

Yami further adds, “Untrue things are written about you; you have to decide if you want to jump in the fish market and become the noise. You have to condition yourself. It’s ironic when the media speaks about mental health, given the role they play in (disrupting) it.”
