Sonam Kapoor shares that she will no more be amplifying SOS calls for plasma donation

On Monday, the central government pulled off use of convalescent plasma for COVID-19 treatment from the list of protocols. This led to the doctors dropping plasma therapy from their list of prescribed treatment. Plasma therapy refers to the induction of blood plasma from a person who has already had the virus into someone who is currently infected with it. This helps antibodies to form faster but this therapy hasn’t proven effective in the case of COVID-19.

Following these new guidelines, Sonam Kapoor, who has been actively helping out people by amplifying SOS calls for resources shares a post that she will no longer be putting up requirements for plasma donations. She wrote, Complying with AIIMS-ICMR directives, I will no longer amplify posts and SOS requests for plasma donation on my Instagram. However, I will continue to highlight requests to get beds and oxygen machines.”
