After fighting a two-year-long battle with cancer, ace actor Irrfan Khan died last year. He is survived by his wife, Sutapa and son, Babil. Babil often posts about his late father on Instagram, thus keeping his memory alive. Now, Babil has revealed that Irrfan Khan told him that he was "going to die" a few days before his death. That was one of the last things that Khan told his son.
"I was there in the hospital, two-three days before he died. He was losing consciousness and one of the last things he said...he just looked at me, smiled and said 'I am going to die' and I told him 'No you are not'. He then smiled again and went back to sleep," Babil told a leading entertainment portal. "I feel the most precious quality about him was that he never pretended. If he is angry with you, or he is in love with you. Main thing is, when he is in love with you and says 'I love you', he did not pretend. He did not say it, till he meant it," added Sutapa.
This year, Irrfan was honoured with the Best Actor In ALeading Role (Male) Award at the 66th Filmfare Awards along with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Babil was present to collect the awards in his father's stead and delivered an emotional speech.
