6 of Sushant Singh Rajputs most philosophical Instagram posts

Sushant Singh Rajput was more than an actor. In a world where people are increasingly thinking less and speaking more, Rajput had a keen mind that raced to the moon and back before you could say "philosophy". When the Dil Bechara actor shared his thoughts on Instagram and Twitter, he wasn't showing off his knowledge - he really wanted to share what he'd discovered and his friends in the industry attest to that. “I knew him. I shot with him... When Sara described him, she always described him as being a really remarkable person. And I thought if this guy really understands Sartre, the way he says, and he is as intelligent as she’s making him out to be, then he’s obviously more intelligent than I am,” Saif Ali Khan had told a leading daily earlier.

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur had also shared his grief at Rajput's death and had tweeted that he missed "exploring philosophy and physics with Sushant". "For someone so young, his mind was incredibly agile, with amazing wisdom," he had written on the microblogging platform. Actor and activist Bhumi Pednekar, who worked with Rajput in Sonchiriya had shared how he had shown her "Saturn, Jupiter and a million stars" with his telescope.

"We spoke of Van Gogh, Gaudi & Descartes. We spoke of breaking patterns and creating new ones. We spoke of theories, success and life. We had debates and many fights. We listened to Beethoven & Mozart, we tried understanding their music through algorithms and charts. You spoke of Faraday, Chatelet and tried explaining Newton’s theories through Art," Pednekar had shared.

Hence, on his first death anniversary, we revisit his Instagram feed and catalogue those posts which made us realise the vastness of the galaxy.

"The Avatamsaka Sutra describes enlightenment as an awareness of the “interpenetration of space and time.” One can’t help but wonder if Einstein’s theory of relativity that unifies space and time was just a stroke of genius or also a glimpse of the divine," the actor had written in a post shared on May 26 last year.

"Of all the various approaches I’ve tried in the last few months,

these meta skills have worked wonders with the best ROI of time:

1. 7 hours of optimised sleep

2. Regular meditation

3. Writing a journal.

4. Frequent Exercise

5. Optimising digital time

and

6. Intermittent fasting

Try them, if you will, and share your secrets for upgrading your quality of life!" Rajput had shared in a post on May 5 last year.

"Dark Energy that is responsible for our universe to expand at an accelerating rate forms around 68% of the universe. Dark Matter on the other hand that is responsible for the formation of our ordered galaxies in this chaos of expanse, forms around 27% of the universe. They together are two most famous and mysterious known-Unknowns that we know of. That means, if we take everything from our daily experience, everything that we know about, it’s made of atoms and all of that adds up to only 5 percent of the universe. Our reality is not what actually reality seems to be," he had shared on May 4 last year.

"If you name me, you negate me.

#Kierkegaard. The Surrealist painter Magritte commented on this always-present gap between words and seeing in a painting called The Key Of Dreams," he had shared on March 29 last year.

"I saw birds and serpents angels and demons swiftly moving hurricanes and a wonderfully chaotic butterfly. Those numerous symbols of being and then, some similar ways of seeing," he had shared alongside a video of his beloved telescope.

"Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum. ("I doubt, therefore I think, I think therefore I am")

~ René Descartes —— But when you don’t doubt, you could still think, even when you don’t think, you could already know, what you know is, exactly what you always were and will be," he had shared on April 9, 2019.
