Im very nervous about making my digital debutâ - Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor has been giving us some interesting roles in films lately and it is safe to say that his most popular role till date is that of Kabir Singh. The movie was a massive hit and a cultural phenomenon despite receiving criticism from various quarters for allegedly glorifying toxic masculinity and domestic abuse. The film’s OST is still a hit and Kapoor’s look from the movie was heavily copied. In celebration of the film’s two year anniversary, Kapoor hosted his first ever Instagram live and spoke about the movie and other projects that are in the pipeline. The actor shared his thoughts about his digital debut as well - he’ll be seen in a web series directed by ace director duo, Raj & DK.

"I'm very nervous about making my digital debut because I really feel that actors who might have been liked and loved on the big screen, might or might not be appreciated on a digital platform," Kapoor said during the live. "You can't just be okay if people like you for a couple of hours. They need to be interested in your character, connect with you and you need to hold their attention for 9-10 episodes. I don't think I'm experienced in that space. So it would be interesting to see how people react to me on that platform," he added.

However, this long form content also excited him, he revealed. "Most of the time when I've finished my movies, whether it was Haider or Kabir Singh, I always used to hope I've been able to bring out every aspect of this character. When you have more time, it allows you to share more of him with the audience. It'll be interesting to see how they respond to that, whether they like me in that space, whether I'll be able to do something different as opposed to what I do in a movie,” he went on to say.

Kapoor didn’t share much about his upcoming series but did say that it was a “quirky crime drama”.
